Stonewall Democrats of WNY commends Governor Paterson for signing an executive order today that includes transgender people in state agencies’ antidiscrimination policies. The order will prohibit New York State agencies from discriminating against individual on the basis of gender identity and expression, in “any matter pertaining to employment by the State.” Only thirteen states and over ninety municipalities and counties prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender.
